Shortcut: Ctrl+D 

Use this command to copy the contents of the topmost cells of a selected range into the cells below. 

Example:

Fill right 

Shortcut: Ctrl+R 

Use this command to copy the contents of the leftmost cells of a selected range into the cells to the right. 

Example:

Fill series 

Shortcut: Ctrl+L 

Use this command to fill the selected range of cells with a series of numbers, characters, or dates.  The 

content of the first cell in the selected range is used as the starting value for the series.  Fill details can be 

given in the subsequent Fill series dialog box.
