Log transformation 

If you selected the Log transformation option, the program performs the calculations on the logarithms of 

the observations, but reports the back transformed summary statistics.   

The variance of the logs cannot be back transformed meaningfully and therefore the variances and the 

variance ratio are give  

n on the log transformed scale.  

One way analysis of variance 

When you want to study the influence of a qualitative (discrete) factor on another (continuous) variable, or 

when you want to test the difference between the means of several subgroups of a variable (multiple 

testing) with a Normal distribution you can use one way analysis of variance. 

Required input 

For Data, select a continuous variable, and for Factor codes the qualitative factor.  The qualitative factor 

may either be character or numeric codes. These codes are used to break up the data into several 

subgroups to calculate the Between groups and Within groups variation. 

Options 

Logarithmic transformation: select this option if the data of the continuous variable are positively skewed.
