Macintosh EndNote Installation
Requirements
The EndNote Demo is available on CD or by downloading. If you have
the CD, you need a CD ROM drive to install the program.
System
EndNote runs under the following Macintosh operating systems:
Requirements
Jaguar 10.2.x
Panther 10.3.x
In the Finder, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu to find your
system version.
Hardware
EndNote requires the following hardware:
Requirements
At least a Power Macintosh G4.
A hard drive with at least 180 MB of free space.
A minimum of 128 MB of available memory (RAM).
In order to use EndNote's Connect command, an Internet
connection is required. To use the Open Link command to access a
web site, you also need a web browser installed.
Word Processor
As of November 2004, EndNote for Macintosh is compatible with:
Compatibility
Microsoft Word X and 2004
RTF files created with most word processors, including: Microsoft
Word, OpenOffice, StarOffice, and FrameMaker.
Cite While You Write in Microsoft Word
EndNote's Cite While You Write commands are available for
Microsoft Word X and 2004.
These Cite While You Write functions put an EndNote submenu of
commands on Word's Tools menu. They also allow EndNote to format
citations and create a bibliography for the document that is open in
Word. You can format, unformat, and re format a single document
without ever exiting your word processor.
If Microsoft Word X or 2004 is installed on your computer, the
appropriate Cite While You Write files are installed automatically
when you run the EndNote installation.
