Community Outreach 

May 17, The Local Grant Committee considered and approved 4 projects. 

The CSSC assisted during PCAs at the following organizations: 

Center of Disabled Children rehabilitation at the Community Center for Children's 

rehabilitation 

Navoyi branch of BWA in Micro rayon No.7 of Navoyi city. PCA targeted on health 

problems 

During the reporting period, two CAPs have been developed: 

May 28, Micro rayon No.7 of Navoyi city initiated by the Navoyi branch of BWA 

   June 30 31,Community Center for Children's rehabilitation initiated by the Center of 

Disabled Children rehabilitation. 

On June 14, the CSSC staff met with representatives of the US National Democratic Institution to 

discuss future cooperation between local NGOs the Institution. Questions concerning advocacy 

and NGO influence on public opinion were discussed. 

The CSSC consulted initiative group on the creation of the Club of Volunteers   medicine 

workers. 

On April 20, an Exhibition of the NGOs of Navoyi Oblast was conducted in Navoyi city to attract 

local governing and business structures for social partnership. 17 NGOs as well as representatives 

of Oblast and City Khokimiyats, 6 rayon Khokimiyats and representatives of other state structures 

took part in this event. A total of 65 people participated. The group decided to conduct regular 

quarterly meetings for NGOs and state structures, and to keep publicize events with the media.

Activity Overview 

On April 11, the Regional Counterpart Consortium Director visited the CSSC. 

On May 6, the CSSC Coordinator, Natalya Sirenko, met with Jennifer Brick from USAID 

Uzbekistan, and Gayrat Babadjanov a representative of the independent TV to discuss problems 

facing local NGOs, NGO development, and social partnership. 

On June 7, CSSC staff and 9 Khorezm NGOs visited Nukus to discuss cooperating to solve 

regional problems. 

Internal Capacity Building 

On April 12, the Hub Center CO Coordinator coached the CSSC Coordinator on components of 

the Community Outreach program.  

On May 30 31, the Hub Center OD Coordinator, Akmal Roustamov, and Health Coordinator, 

Shukhrat Aripov, conducted an organizational development assessment of the CSSC. 

The CSSCs has two new contract trainers: Nasiba Babadjanova and Zukhra Babadjanova.
