The contract 02/AB/KGZ/CM/200 (c) for 2002 has been signed with UNHCR, aimed at enhancing
educational opportunities for Afghan children. The $12,000 provided under this sub project amount is
the add on grant to the agreement 02/AB/KGZ/LS/470 (f) signed during the first quarter of 2002.

modules.

$17,926 from UNHCR for Lebap CSSC to develop the capacity of local NGOs and associations
to deal with refugees and to provide services for NGOs in the region.
$400 from INTRAC & IDC for participating in the conference Growing Civil Society in Central
Asia: International and local perspectives for ICCA member Vladimir Kosarev and Annageldy
NGO members Nataliya Shabutz, Aina Rakhmanova.
$610 from USAID (Democracy Fund) to Khadjarbibi Yelamanova, manager of Ashgabat CSSC
for participating in seminars: NGOs role in public opinion formation in the sphere of natural
resources management and The forming of public opinion and social significant intelligence ,
held in Tashkent on the subject: Improvement of natural resources management in Central Asia
region .
$5,0000 from the New Zealand Embassy for equipment (copy machine, electronic binder) for
implementation of the project Capacity Building for Rural Community Initiatives .

ZBEKISTAN
The Kokand CSSC conducted a paid TOT on community mobilization for 6 representatives of Mercy
Corp Organization on May 27 and 28. The participants gained practical skills in working with the
community on problem solving.
