Using the Palace scripts. In the 

Palace root directory/bin

 directory, run the 

following script:

./stop palace

You can also stop the web server with this script:

./stop httpd

You can also use the UNIX 

kill

 command, and the Palace operator 

shutdown

command.

To use the UNIX kill command 

1.

You should make sure everyone is off the server, though this is not required.

2.

Use the UNIX 

ps

 command to get the process number.

3.

Kill the process using 

kill process #

To use Palace shutdown command

1.

You should make sure nobody else is connected to your Palace server, though this 

is not required.

2.

Connect to your Palace server from the Palace software (for Macintosh or Windows 

95)

3.

Select Options, Wizard and enter your owner password to enter owner mode.

4.

Type the owner command 

 shutdown 

in the client input window and press Enter.
