7.2.4  

The Authorised Person is to have access to the Health and Safety File and 

where appropriate, is to use the information contained in the file to ensure 

the safety of persons working on or near the Confined Space or any other 

person who may be affected by the work. 

7.2.7  

Following any alterations to the Confined Space, the Authorised Person is 

to ensure that the information contained within the Health and Safety File 

is updated. 

7.2.8  

Copies of relevant documents contained in the Health and Safety File may 

need to be held with the Confined Spaces Register. 

Safe Systems of Work 

7.2.9  

New structures and installations, extensions to existing structures and 

installations which are substantially modified are to be constructed to 

eliminate or minimise the need to enter a confined space and to reduce the 

risks to persons entering that space.
